Welcome to the Code Administration Department web page.
Our department is responsible for the current and future planning and zoning activities within the City of Enid and all urbanized areas of Garfield County, in addition to the administration and enforcement of all building codes, issuance of permits for building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical permits and the inspection of code compliance throughout the building process.
Additionally, this Department is responsible for the licensing of all mechanical, electrical and plumbing contractors, inspection of all new construction, remodeling and all other work for which a permit is required, the inspection of places of public assembly, restaurants, taverns, mobile home parks, salvage yards, oil and gas wells and other land requiring annual license permits. We are also responsible for enforcement of all nuisance ordinances for the City of Enid.
We are excited about the future of our department and the changes that have recently taken place. With the addition of the planning and zoning component to the department and the combination of certain engineering tasks, we are striving to become a more user friendly department allowing our citizens a “one stop” experience when they need assistance.
