Summer Reading Program Kick-Off!
Concert at 6 p.m., Sugar Free All Stars
Summer Reading Program @ the Library Kicks Off With Some Noise!
Join us for a journey around the world.
Readers of all ages will explore the world this summer as the Public Library of Enid and Garfield County presents One World Many Stories for children, You Are Here for Teens, and Novel Destinations for adults. Everyone gets a passport to record their trip and show where they went and what they learned.
The program will kick off on Friday, June 3rd at 6:00 p.m. with a concert by the Sugar Free All Stars on the west lawn of the library. Feel free to bring your blankets and lawn chairs. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held at the Cherokee Strip Conference Center.
Registration for all participants in summer reading will be held before and after the concert and six local authors will be available to visit with. Plan for a summer for fun with stories, books, crafts, movies, and special guests. We have a storyteller and a juggler as well as a visit from the Oklahoma City Zoo for kids and teens. Grownups will learn about home brewing and participate in a clothing exchange in addition to a book discussion workshop on Barbara Kingsolver’s book Animal, Vegetable, Miracle.
The library will be open two hours later than usual on Friday, June 3rd, until 8:00 p.m., for our kick off and for First Friday and the Friends of the Library of Enid will also be holding a bake sale that day from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Come by and pick up a calendar of events or access the calendar at our web site.
