Library Debuts New Globe
Thursday, January 12, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. the Public Library of Enid & Garfield County will host a short reception for the unveiling of a new floor globe purchased with donations from Enid area businesses and organizations. The old globe that the library had dated from the 1960’s and was terribly outdated as well as damaged. The frame was still in good shape, so donations were solicited to purchase a replacement globe for the frame. This updated, lighted, 32-inch diameter floor globe will be a centerpiece of the first floor of the library thanks to contributions by Groendyke Transport, Continental Resources, AdvancePierre Foods, Dillingham Insurance, Wymer Brownlee, OG&E Energy Corporation, and the Friends of the Library of Enid.
