Born and raised in Marshall, Minnesota. Gary attended the University of Minnesota and then served two years in the Army before moving to Enid with his family to start Atwood Distributing Company. He has worked at Atwoods since 1964 and served as President from 1976 to 2004. He currently serves as Chairman of Atwoods.
Gary Atwood’s community service includes serving on the Boards of Directors for Camp Fire Girls, Emmanuel Christian School, Oklahoma Bible Academy, Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, Liberty Federal Savings Bank, Mid-States Distributing Company and Denny Price Family YMCA. Gary has served Emmanuel Baptist Church in various leadership roles. Additionally, Gary Atwood has volunteered with United Way and Oklahoma Blood Institute. He has supported Enid Public School Foundation, Enid Public School and Oklahoma Bible Academy.
